POPFASD Update - September 2009

We're back for another busy school year!
We are pleased to announce that our team has 2 new members. Our new teacher consultant is Janet Hohner, who joins us from School District #83 North Okanagan-Shuswap. Our new administrator (0.1) is Tony Sweet.
Here are the highlights from September:

  • presented an FASD workshop at a junior secondary school in Prince George
  • presented a half day workshop in West Vancouver
  • presented 2 FASD workshops in Powell River
  • presented a full day workshop in Duncan
  • updated many areas of our current website
  • revised 2 of our original modules (cause/effect and slow processing)
  • worked on the revision for module 1.1 "What is FASD?"
  • reorganized our expanded office space
  • revised our program brochure
  • completed preliminary planning for District Partner Training in November
  • provided some initial training for new teacher consultant
  • continued liaising, via teleconferences, with the different ministries
  • held our annual POPFASD retreat
  • revised our generic powerpoint and handout packages
  • continued work on our case study module
  • continued work on the "wheel" program
  • participated in the International FASD day activities in Prince George
  • connected with Key Workers in West Vancouver, Powell River, and Duncan in preparation for those presentations
