Impacts refer to the feelings and/or behaviours that result when there is a poor fit or a mismatch between expectations and student abilities. These impacts occur when the student is not understood and their behaviours are viewed as being willful and intentional rather than as a result of the underlying brain condition. When we support the student's primary disabilities and utilize strengths, we create a better fit and reduce the impacts.
